Dr. Grady Taylor, D.M., Pastor
Dr. Ewell "Grady" Taylor, Jr. began the ministry in 1987 and has served as Senior Pastor in six churches. He has been at MorningStar Community Church since July of 2011. He married his high school sweetheart Arlene Counts in May of 1979. They have two daughters and a son-in-love, Hannah & Timothy, and Abigail. He enjoys old Westerns, the Georgia Bulldogs, spending time with his family, and seeing Christ change lives.
He is a graduate of the Baptist College Of Florida in Graceville, where he earned his Bachelor of Theology in May 1993. He received a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (Lynchburg, Virginia) in May 1997. He completed a Doctorate Of Ministry in August of 1999 from Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, Georgia. |
Rev. Zakie Davis, Worship Pastor
After being raised by godly parents who introduced him to God as a child, Zakie has spent most of his life loving God and music. God called him into Worship Ministry in 1988. Having been faithfully married to Donna for over 35 years, she serves alongside him in ministry and life. They have 3 sons who are grown, married and have blessed the family w/grandchildren.
Zakie enjoys playing guitar, writing songs, introducing music to his grandchildren, fishing, and spending time w/ his family. Zakie has served in several churches over the last 30 years as Worship Pastor. After moving our family to MorningStar in 2010, God called Zakie as Worship Pastor in 2014. As Zakie surrenders to the leading of God’s Spirit, his desire is to bring the corporate body into true, dynamic worship; he is committed to helping mentor others in their God-given talents. |
Matthew Chance, ElderMatthew and his family have been attending MorningStar Community Church since 2004. Matthew married his best friend in 2000 and have two children, Cathleen and Christian. Cathleen is living her best life in North Georgia and Christian is in the Air Force.
As an administrative elder for the church, Matthew oversees the finances and operations at the church and confers with the other elders and pastors on matters. |
